Being imitators of Jesus

OIKOS

Love God, yourself and others At Blackstone Christian Centre, we believe in sharing our faith through the powerful principle of Oikos. Imagine your life like a theatre, with people watching from various seats. Some are far away, but it’s those in the front row—your inner circle—who really see and hear you the most. This group, called your Oikos, is made up of 8 to 15 people in your life who are closest to you, and studies show that 95% of believers were led to Christ by someone in their Oikos.

Oikos isn't just a church program or event—it’s a way of living with purpose. It's about seeing the world through a lens that helps you naturally share your faith by focusing on the people you already know. By recognizing your Oikos, you can organize your life in a way that brings God’s Kingdom into your everyday relationships.

Here at Blackstone, we encourage you to follow these five steps:

  1. Make a list of the people in your Oikos.
  2. Pray for your list regularly.
  3. Invest in your list through meaningful connections.
  4. Invite your list into a God conversation.
  5. Be the best version of yourself to them.
Through the Oikos principle, you’ll find purpose and fulfillment as you share the love of Christ with those in your world.

Blackstone Christian Centre — A House of Refuge

Blackstone Christian Centre is affiliated with House of Refuge, a ministry supported and facilitated by Love Australia, which is affiliated with Love Life America, the initiators of the House of Refuge ministry.

Love Australia seeks to unite and mobilise churches to create a culture of love and life—one in which abortion becomes unthinkable because women, men and families are surrounded by genuine compassion, practical help and lasting support.

A Safe Place for Support

Our heart is for Blackstone Christian Centre to be a safe and compassionate place for women and families facing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy.

If you find yourself in this situation, you do not have to face it alone. We want to listen without judgement, walk alongside you and help connect you with the practical, emotional and spiritual support you need. Our desire is that no one would feel that abortion is their only or easiest option because they lack care, resources or support.

Healing After Abortion

We also recognise that abortion can leave deep and lasting wounds. Women and men who have been affected by a past abortion can find a safe place to begin their journey towards healing and freedom.

Our response is not condemnation but compassion. Through sensitive pastoral care, appropriate support and the hope of the Gospel, we want to help people experience the grace, forgiveness and restoring love of Jesus Christ.

Our Commitment

As a House of Refuge church, Blackstone Christian Centre is committed to:
